Default water pump outlet question...

any one had success or no success for that matter moving the upper hose connection on the water pump? is it possible to heat the water pump casting and turn the stainless fitting about 30 degrees ? i'm using an older r4 a/c bracket and tensioner set-up from a coventional sbc and the new tensioner is going to interfere with the upper hose. if i can turn the fitting about 30 degrees it would be great. thanks.

The truck version of the water pump has the upper outlet pointing straight up. Maybe this would work for you.

that's the pump i'm using. with the a/c bracket i'm using i need the outlet to point straight forward and up, not pointed to the right slightly. the f-body won't work either, i'm using truck front accessories that put the belt directly in line with the f-body outlet. i talked to guy on ebay that was able to pull the neck out of the pump and press it back in sealing it with loc-tite. that's what i'm going to try unless someone else has some real world experience. thanks.

A couple of thoughts.... a) S&P has an adjustable housing that rotates (I think). You might look into it. I think it only goes on the F-body or Corvette water pump. b) I found an OEM housing that came out almost straight. Check this thread out.

Anyone look at the Catty water pump, I think it is differnet. I'll look for a pic.

i heated the casting with a torch and turned the outlet with a large pipe. yeah, crude, but it worked. guess i'll know in a couple of weeks if it leaks.

That p/n is the only thing I have to go on. The guy I got it from thought it was from a Trailblazer but Budman looked at his GF's truck and it wasn't the same. Let me try a couple of people that I know to see if the number means anything to them. Maybe they can find out what it's from.

Where in Rochester are you? My wife is from Greece.

Could it be from a V-8 Trailblazer. Also did anyone look at the Catty version yet. I shearched the web and found no pics that would work.
