Man,you have a classic 69 SS\RS Camaro which is worth some good bucks as it is. If you put a LS1 in that beutiful car you will sink a bunch of money and hard work only to de-value the car big time!!!!I got 3 words for you DON"T DO IT!!!!LS1"s are great but that car of yours is FINE the way it is!!!Its a CLASSIC!!!!!!DDI!!!!!

well the motor in it right now is weak and not-original...it originally had a 307 in it. my dad and i built this car to have it the way i want it. also, we're not concerned with how much the car is worth; we're concerned with how much we like it. i want the mileage, the performance, and the reliability - 3 things i am not getting in this car right now.

it's not like i'm selling the car in the next 10 years probably - i wanna have it the way i want it - not what makes it worth the most money...

make sense?

It's YOUR car. If we were doing what everyone else does, we'd be driving ricers. I'm sure down the road if you ever decide to sell it, your car will bring more the way you plan to build it than it ever would stock.

I agree.. since it does not have the original motor then the LS1 is not going to kill the value as a collectable..

Mine was just a base SS and had no matching parts so I felt ok with jerking around with it the way I have.. besides the LS1 just looks SO GOOD in there

i finally got mine mounted in there the other day and it looks good sitting in there! i cant wait to drive the freakin thing! but i say go for it, i wasnt concerned with originalit either, maybe when i get older and they are even rarer, but for now i am not. i also want the gas mileage and the performance all in the same motor, another reason i didnt want to keep that junk 350 pontiac in there. so good luck and i am pretty sure you wont regret it!

what i wanna know is, other than the oil pump, fuel pump, and motor mounts, what else do you have to buy to make this work in the car? can i use the stock transmission crossmember, and just move it and drill new holes? we're trying to stay on a tight budget, so i'm just looking out for ourselves before we get deep into it.

i know a lot of people ask this, but i'm just making sure.

thanks guys! here's some pics of my car, Evelyn:

nice choice, Hot Rod mag? ran an article on a similar car.[/
