Default quick fuel hose question

I was stripping the motor down last night to get ready to install it, and have a question. On the 02 LS6, there are two fuel hoses at the rails. One is from the tank, and the other is a return I assume, but there is an electronically controlled device inline with a hose from the throttle body to the return hose. We had several ideas of how the system runs, but need to know how it will work with the '99 'vette filter/regulator setup. How would I block off this line? Or should I run a return line all the way back so the fuel circulates?

That's the purge canister solenoid and related plumbing; not a return line.

If you are not using it you can unplug and remove it, and then just put a vacuum cap over the nipple sticking out the side of the intake manifold.

The only return line will be what you create using the Vette filter/regulator.

Yes. It's the only way to regulate the fuel pressure. Without one you would just deadhead the fuel pump. If the fuel pump were rated at 125 psi, that's what you would have at the injectors, without a way to regulate it down.
