Do you realize that for the money and effort this will take the LT1 could easily be faster?
If you go ahead know that you need an LS1 tranny and I would recommend Speartech(see vendor list) for wiring help if you can not just use a stock LS1 harness.

Yea your right and I have thought about that, but just thought it would look nnice to have a ls1 in a 97 car and I the way the ls1 is advertise now days you would think that this would be the best thing to do. I myself have thought about building a lt1 stroker but I dont know what I would have to have in order to swap a v-6 to a v-8 lt1. Well what all do I need to put a lt1 in a v6 '97 car, I have been seraching on the internet and most treads that are brought up are for lt1's into a 91-95 car.

No point LT1s are dirt cheap and so are LS1s, well cheaper then doing a motor swap. Unless you have some attachment to the car were its worth the money.

I din't realize the car was V6, in that case I think even an LT1 will be a project.
I don't understand the V6 in the f-body, I think they should have used the L99(4.3L V8) for the small engine in the f-body, that is what they used for the base in the Caprice 94-6, decent motor and on the outside looks just like an LT1. That is what my car came with and the LT1 dropped in perfect. 200hp 245tq with single exhaust mid to upper 20s for milage in these boats, guess the insurance companies would have still seen V8 and jacked the insurance though.
