LS1 with 605 Power Steering Box

I'm planning on using my 605 power steering box with my '55 LS1 conversion if possible. Does anyone know if the pressure supplied by the standard LS1 p/s pump is enough or too much to use with the 605 box? I'm guessing I'll need to get custom lines built.
Thanks,
Steve

I did find an older thread where the 1st gen folks were using the older steering boxes with the LS1 pump, but I don't know if those are 605 boxes.

These people were most helpful in getting my lead sled up and running with an LS1..(57chevy) http://www.hotrodlane.cc/ they even currently have 2 projects going whrere they are putting ls1's into 2 different 57's one with a t56 like mine and the other with a 4l60e
hope this helps....

i've done two swaps using late model power steering pumps and old boxes. not sure mines a 605 box, but here goes
i used a 93 LT1 pump on my 62 impala power steering, which consisted of a control valve and hydraulic cylinder. on problems there.
i also used a 2002 power steering pump on my 1967 chevy pickup's stock box, no problems there ether.
as for lines go, you can change the pressure relief valve in the pump its self to use a flair fitting instead of the o-ring type.
on the back of an old p/s box, take the nut off that has the flair fitting in it.
under it will be a piston and a spring and maybe something else. move all this into your late model pump. It worked for my on my 62 impala. I used stock lines!
good luck
