Default 6.0 swap what radiator?

I keep hearing that the 6.0 needs a steam purge tank in the radiator to releive pressure. Does that mean that I need to get a radiator from a similar vehicle that the motor came out of. Truck, Denali, Escalade etc.?

You don't need a "steam purge" tank, you need a return for throttle body heat coolant. I used a two-piece upper radiator hose that is joined by a piece of steel tubing that has a nipple brazed into it for the t/body coolant return. It seems to work just fine. There are other ways to do it but it's not a big engineering challenge.

You bypass the TB coolant but you still need to hook up the steam vent that is on the front of the heads. I did what Oscar Will describes above. We had a few discussions on why you need the vent a few months ago.

To answer the "what radiator?" question, I'm using a Griffin universal fit 31X19 aluminum radiator that I got from Summit. You should be able to use just about any radiator but you'll have to find hoses that fit.

if thats the tank that fills up when your car over heats id recomend one...it might not look the greatese but its better than blowing a hose

Didn't want to start a new post about this. I am now looking for a stock overflow tank and my chevy dealer wants to charge me $57.00 for one. Can I use one of the metal ones I see on Ebay instead? If I get a stock overflow then I have to get all the hoses that go to it also. Does anyone have any pics of their engine bays with custom cooling routing?
