Putting a ls1 in an old vette?
Hey everyone, what would be required to put a ls1 in an old 1970s vette? I would like to have a project car eventualy but dont have a ton of cash to burn. Thanks!

You need to define "don't have a lot of cash to burn" up front. Here's Jeff's cost sheet. It will give you an idea of what's needed and how much you might pay for it. That's if you can get a motor and tranny with all of the accessories, computer, and wiring harness for the same price that he did. (I didn't. I don't want to add up my costs because my wife would probably kill me if she knew. Let's just say it's more that what Jeff's webpage says...) To be realistic, add 25-75% of that number to it and then you're in the ballpark of what you will spend by the time it's all done. I don't want to scare you off but everyone in here will tell you that they overspent their budget by some non-trivial amount.
