Close but yet so far......
i told you in the other thread, you need fuel, and spark, to run.
go old school man, pull a plug, plug it into the plug wire, hold the threads of the plug itself against the head to ground it, and fire it over to see if you have spark. if you do, then pull an injector out of the intake, and plug it into its respective plug. unplug all the others from the harness and give her a good turning over, check and see if it's squirting.
before you check the injectors, i would unscrew the cap on the end of driverside fuel rail and depress the schrader valve while someone cranks on it. if you get hosed with fuel, you have fuel pressure. do this before ANYTHING ELSE, because its the easiest thing to do.
make sure the engine compartment isnt covered in gasoline when you do the spark plug check or you could have a fire problem.
do this, then come back and tell us the result. if its rolling and rolling over, not even TRYING to start, then you have either a fuel, or a spark problem.
Correct me if im wrong but if it was the VATS the motor would not turn over at all. Sounds like a fuel/spark problem

If he went the simple route like I did, he just took the START output wire from the key switch and connected that to the LS1 harness starter solenoid wire.
No way VATS will prevent this setup from cranking...it just won't actually start.

1. have a extra spark plug handy and just connect that one. alot easier then pulling a plug.
2. buy or rent a Noid light from autozone... a noid light is a special light that plugs into the injector connection. every time the injector is pulsed, you should see the light flash instead. simple to check and you dont have to open the fuel system.
3. put a fuel pressure gauge on the system first. much safer then just spraying fuel everywhere, and you can check that the pressure is correct... not just that pressure is there.
I bought my engine then it sat on the floor in my garage for about 2 1/2 years before I installed it. Anyway, it turns out that the injectors were gunked up from sitting so long. I had a friend tap on the injectors while I cranked it and eventually it coughed to life. Initially it ran rough, but it got much better once I put some fuel injector cleaner in the gas (Chevron Techron, iirc).
Your mileage may vary.
