Default 700r4 or 4L80E?

I am doing a 6.0 swap in my K5 blazer and was going to use a built up 700R4. It would be a great transmission because it would fit under my K5 like a stock drivetrain with the same crossmember and adapter to my NP241, 700r4s can be built up to handle the 320 horses that my engine will produce, and it's got great gearing. The issue is that I would have to do a lot of programming to the PCM to cancel out the transmission functions ($200), and get about $350 worth of extra equipment (customTV cable kit, lockup kit, custom flex plate and spacer kit). So I was thinking; since the K5 came with can fit a turbo 400 and a 208 (basically a 4L80E and a 241 in modern skin) with the old crossmember and tranny to T-c aseadapter, would'nt the 4L80E be a better option? It would be less programming, a direct fit to the 6.0, ability to handle 320 horsepower like it was nothing, and no exta equipment. Any input from someone running a th400 turbo 400 and a 208 would be great because I need to know if there is any changes I have to make for that to my K5 (should be a common swap I would think). Any thoughts

Pretty sure the 700r4 is the same thing as the 4l60 without the electronics. Go with the 80e if you can.

Turbo 400's are pretty bullet proof but no overdrive.

Couldn't you use a 4L60E from a 99-newer truck and bolt a 208 to that? The 4L60E is the same as a 700r4 with electronic shift. The trans would already come from a genIII and I would think the 208 would bolt to the back of it. GM doesn't change things that much. Thats the combo I would try to use.

I had a 4L60E that somebody sold me for 800 and it was garbage. I ran it behind an LT1 for a little while then it quit. So, I just want to make sure I do it right next time.
