What year truck, what model, what engine.......p0178 is normally a fuel composition circuit code (this circuit senses amount of alcohol in the fuel and fuel temperature) on late model trucks 2002 and newer. The code could mean other problems on older units.

I don't even show that as a code for an 03 truck. Do you have the L59 engine?

yeah on the gm tech 2 it is the z engine code
and that is the code it keeps giving me p0178 which makes it very hard to start on cold mornings. I am trying to find out where it is at so that I can replace it

Could be any of 'em. If you have a Tech 2 look for data rather than just codes. You can check the power and ground to the sensor with a DVM. Then look for the signal info with the Tech 2.
