non ls1 mazda..
non ls1 mazda.. hey guys,,i did not know where to put this at.. i have a chance to get a 88 mazda b2200 single cab in great shape for 400 bucks.. it has a rebuilt manual trans and the motor runs but smokes like a train until its warm..(2.2l) i was wondering what kiind of engine swap would be possible fairly easy.. no i dont want to put a v8 in it or anything,.,.i want something that gets 89 mpg!! hahah i really just want fuel injection on it..i could rebuild the 2.2l in there now and get a fuel injection kit for it but i havent been able to come up with hardly anything as far as aftermarket fi setups for it.. i would think a newer ford ranger motor or something would be a farily easy swap no??? keep in mind i dont want to do a lot of work on this thing..(as in fabbing motor mounts etc...) this will be no more than a daily driver to get me around seeing as if niether one of my vehiclles seems to get over the double digit gas milage range... 
IF this was not doable as in motor swaps, what kind of mpg could i expect to see outta the carb setup that is on it now? im not dead set on buying it but if i could go the the local boneyard and pick up a newer fuel injected 4 banger and throw in it..i might purchase it..

Im thinking about doing a turbo 2.3 ranger. not really a swap since they came with a 2.3, but still think it would be cool. have more pep than a stock 4 banger to get me out of the toll booths, but still be able to pull down some decent mileage when im out of the turbo.
