Use the stock one and rework/tune it with hp tuner or ls edit
If wires are a nitemare for you and you dont wanna mess with the harness call John from Speartech! He has a harness/cpu or will rework your stock/cpu...the idea of getting hptuners or other stuff is that you might wanna tune the car in the future ...so getting it is always smart

You cant use the STOCK computer for a ls1 car, just the anti theft stuff will stop you. it has a lot of stuff you need to omitt. as for the harnes, you will likely cut a lot of stuff out too. Hope this helps.

well you CAN.... just get a VATS bypass module....

but the smart thing to do would be to take the STOCK computer, and have someone that "tunes" LS1 cars disable the codes, vats, remove the speedlimiter, raise the rev limiter, change the fan temp, ect.....

its still the STOCK computer... just the software written to it is diffrent... so yea, buy the harness and STOCK computer.... then just get someone to flash a "tune" on it.

The smart thing to do is send it in to John from Speartech tell him what you got and what your doing, he can flash it and send it back to you harness and pc complete. Then you can use HP tuner or ls1 edit to go from there.
