LS1 in a Miata???
I do not think it'd work with a 6 speed, but a 4L60E should.

my conversion of my 90 miata with a 98 ls1/t56 is almost complete. it takes a bit of work to modify the firewall to give clearance for the 6 speed bell housing. the car now starts, but i think i still have a vats issue! the car will run for 1-2 seconds, and then die... plenty of fuel pressure etc... hope to have the car on the road within a month or so... i know 2 other guys that are currently doing the swap besides myself... one has the automatic, and one has the t56 like mine... good luck!

what year cars did you do the swaps in? where are you located? how much did you space the k-frame down? 1 inch here. did the factory hood close? (not sure yet!) what did you do for headers? i built custom ones that exit in the wheel wells since i didnt have clearance in the tunnel. what rear end did you use? (turboII rx-7) radiator? (miata) just curious as to how others did this swap. i hope to have mine road worthy in the next couple of weeks!
i still need to decide on buying hptuners or ls1 edit...

i got my HPtuners for 2002s (like my donor motor) and 99s (like alot of the guys in the local F&Ybody club)
total cost was $505.... split between 5 of us. just $101.
by doing little things like O2 deletes, fan temp, ect.. for others.... i made enough to cover half of everyones cost. so they're in about $50 now.
one guy sold his O2 sims and is in the clear..
one guy sold his hypertech, and MADE money.
im only in $20, and it was really worth it to me.. lol
it does EVERYTHING, and its easy to use... heres a screenshot of the first thing you'll probly change...

LS1 edit is VIN specific... one copy, one car.
HPtuners is YEAR specific.. and you get two years ( yours and one free year) when you buy it...
for example, mine is for 02s and 99s... so i can tune my car, AND i can tune Jays car (the friend whos name im using... lol)
HPtuners is not just ONE program.. its THREE.
the flash tool... this gets things on and off the PCM.
the editer.. this edits the PCM files
the scan tool.... THIS is somthing LS1 edit doesnt have.... and not only does this scan tool work for your years, it works for all ODBII GM cars... (and some non GM ODBII cars....)
