Is there a better way out? Ok guys heres the deal.... this is the first lt1 i have ever messed with.. I bought a 96 trans am with an auto transmision... I have no clue what tranny it is but i do know its the factory trans...the car was wrecked and some of the wiring harness was mangled so we had to cut it... Now I put the motor in a 79 280 z car and have looked over my options for a wiring harness, I have a maf,computer and a engine harness... well its cut im guessing where it went through the fire wall... I dont rember where I cut it from 
I priced a harness and having a computer burned (to remove vatts or some crap like that) from speartech for 800 bux
I have looked at a painless harness for like 599
the thing is bone stock and will stay that way for a while I would rather not drop a bunch of cash in the car and I just want it to run...do I have any other options?

You could call a some salvage yards or look for people parting out lt1 autos on boards, and hopefully pick one up for alot less cash.
yeah I thought about that but what about the vatts or patts or what ever its called...? the car wont run with out the right key right?

yeah I could pay 150 bux and have it all deleted... + a decent wait time...I just wanted to make sure I couldant get arround it my self for less cash ...

convert that bad boy to OBD1 and then it is real cheap to get tuned. $50-100 for a cable, then $75 for unlimited tunning from PCM for less. they just email it too you and you install it your self.
