Default 66 El Camino LS1

Here are some pictures I took of a '66 El C at the Sacramento Autorama. I was going for detail and did not take an over all picture. Hope these help a little.

Nice, Nice job on that swap. I now realize that I will need to block out a whole lot of time before attempting this.

Again, Nice Job!

What did you for motor mounts? And did the factory steering shaft still fit? How about the trans crossmember? Think a 4L80E would fit up in there without cutting the floorpans/

Nice find Pro Stock John!

Very expensive compared to Street and Performance - their motor mounts are $89.95, although you would have to factor in the cost of the original small block motor mounts, and I'm not sure what those run - anybody know? It sounds like the Year One mounts are 1 piece, as compared to plates and stock motor mounts like the S&P set-up. I wish they had high-res pics on the Year One site.

I was just talking to Mark at S&P about ordering the motor mounts and F-body oil pan for my project (anybody have a F-body pan in excellent condition and pickup tube and dipstick they want to get rid of - I can trade my '04 GTO pan if you want). I think the motor will set in-place with those 2 items - then I can focus on accessory location and mounting modifications if needed. I'll probably also get the firewall bracket for the 6-speed hydraulic clutch assembly from S&P.

Stu Cool - do you have high-res pics of that '66 Elky? I'm in the process of installing an LS1/T56 into a '66 Elky!
