I've been searching on this site on what to do for the throttle cable for my ls1 swap and it looks like its either getting the 4th gen cable or the cable from lokar. I wanted to get some feed back from those have used them, and which they think would be easier to do. I know the lokar is more expensive but i'm just looking for the one that i need to do the least amount of modification to get it to fit.
Thanks

I used the Lokar, i am not sure if I got the wrong part number or what but the end that attaches to the throttle cable didnt attach right, but I just kind of looped the cable through the opening on the lever and it works fine. There no real modification that needs to be done. you just need to cut or remove the old cable, and since the hole in the firewall is bigger than the end of the cable, I just used a fender washer to keep it in place. It a lot easier than you think it will be to install, just make sure when your adjusting the length of the cable by the pedal, to leave a little extra cable for error, because some of the throttle body blades are bigger than others. Once you remove your old cable, the install is self explanitory...I dont know much about using a 4th gen cable, but Im pretty sure someone on here had the correct part number for the lokar cable your supposed to get.

On my 91 fullsize blazer, I used a 2000 silverado throttle cable and it popped right in. I just had to enlarge the hole in the firewall slightly and it snapped right in no pb, and also snapped right into the back of my peddle assembly. Might be worth a try.

GM is good for some things.... but not a lot of things.

I had bought the Lokar cable because i didnt know that the engine i bought was going to come with a 4th gen cable. I tried the 4th gen cable first since i could sell the Lokar in the packaging and found the 4th gen cable fit perfectly without any mods. I snapped into the firewall and it clipped onto the pedal and it reaches WOT with out having to bend the pedal, which i have read you have to do. I may depend on the year of thirdgen, but it worked flawlessly on mine.

I bought the GM "12565559" throttle cable and tried snapping it in the firewall today but it doesn't work too well... how are you guys modifiying this? I'm sure I can come up with something, but if there is a really easy way I'm not thinking of I'd appreciate someone sharing it!
Thanks!

from my own searches, the lokar is a cut to fit item.
the stock GM cable will work on 3rd gen cars, so it should be a pretty close fit on that 2nd gen gas pedal as well.
ive seen a car that had run some sheet metal screws threw the plastic clip on the firewall to hold it in place. looked decent enough.
