Default Finaly the swap has STARTED

Finaly after years of waiting for this day to come, and last 8 months planning it i've have finaly started my ls1 swap . Today i pulled my old 305 tpi out of my 91 z28 along with the t5 that backed it up. Sending in the harnesses to get reworked by speartech monday and then will start to tackle the fuel system. Got a long way to go but now at least it feels like i'm on the path of getting there .

Thanks
Justin

hey thanks a lot, yea i hope i got everything covered. Got new katech rod bolts, tsp ported oil pump, new plugs, wires, and the headers/y-pipe coming from hawks. Using the ram powergrip clutch with adjustable master. Hope everything goes together smoothly(of course it prolly wont), hows your swap coming a long.

Its coming along slowly...im at college and only have weekends to work on it but its almost done. Just gotta go pick up my 10 bolt from gettin fixed, wait for my longtubes to come and install those, and throw my brakes on and the car should move under its own power. Of course that probably wont happen smoothly, but o well. With any big project like this snags happen, but it seems like your on pace for a pretty smooth ride. Just read some of my posts and its youll find good things not to do on an ls1 swap, lol.

sending in my ls1 harness and my 3rd gen harness and have john speartech do it all(modifying the ls1 and tieing it into my 3rd gen harness), think its 750 for all of it. Prolly could do it myself but i dont really want to spend all the time learning how to do it and really dont want to find out i did it wrong. Going to mount the comp in the stock location, just going to cut th hole in the firewall like mr.dude did it.

Yea goin the speartech route is the way to go, just one less thing to worry about. I would have liked to mount the PCM in the stock location but I theres no way to drill a hole in the firewall with the engine in and all the wires and hoses and stuff in the way and I dont feel like pulling it out again. I just mounted it on on the little shelf on the passenger side like so

I am concidering removing a/c to save me money in the future of having ac lines fabed up, saves some weight up front, and Would make my engine bay look much cleaner and giving me a better place to mount my pcm. Im not sure yet though. Well see.

**I see that your 19, haha, Im still the youngest third gen LS1 swapper that I know of at 18 lol.

Good luck on the swap. I like seeing the projects that get started and the ones that get finished. I'm still in the planning and "dreaming" stages....also learning alot from what others post on their up-dates , so keep posting the progress.
