Default 4l60E and converter

Hello,

I`m finally ready to buy a 4l60E trans and converter and was wondering where the best place to buy these are. I just got my new Ls1 in the crate and it`s sweet!!

Any help on which converter to use would be great.

Thank you, Kurt

For your converter question, it would help to know the type and weight of your vehicle and your intended use.

Pat,

It`s a 69 Camaro, 3200lbs. Going to be a driver and has the 25534322 LS1 and hot cam installed so I suppose it`s approximately 375-400hp.

Thanks

There are 2 reputable builders I'd try, www.teamtripp.com and ProBuilt (www.700r4l60e.com). Since TeamTripp is in the middle of a move, I'd go with ProBuilt and a Yank converter most likely. I'd contact them, and see how they'd set up the trans and converter. They'll put it together as a package. These guys are used to putting together a trans/converter that will hold up to 4200#, as they do a lot of work for the b-body (Impala SS/Caprice) crowd as well as the f-bodies.
