Well, bought the new house and still doing new house move- in stuff- The car, all the car parts, and all my tools are sitting in a corner of the shop until I can get fully moved in to the house. Funny, the wife likes the car thing, but tends to get testy if I mention working on the car before I paint, buy furniture, put up blinds etc...

I hope to be crankin on the car again in the next month or so. It's not much further than the last post I made. The first thing I plan on doing when I get back into it is to make the fuel tank and plumb the fuel system so I can start the car- that'll get the juices flowing at full - tilt again...

Well, if the wife gives you too much of a hard time with all the domestic duties, I'll take the car off of you.

Seriously, that is the most awesome hybrid I have ever seen.

LMFAO!!!!

My brother has a 68 Austin American sitting in our shop with a solid body but puked trans. Its a stick too which is apparently not too common ( I really dont know jack about these cars)

The funny thing is I have been trying to convince him we should contact Pinks and build a rear drive v8 swap for the show. I got all inspired after watching those pittspeed guys do that 240.

Excellent work thus far that thing is sweet!!

**EDIT: The Austin is for sale BTW. Its been stored indoors since 1971 and is in very solid restorable shape. Interior is pretty damn cherry too

HAHAAH...this is why I'm waiting to get married until after I have a house...and have had at least one project car. I can live with milk crates, bean bag chairs and paint that's faded.

Hey Roadrunner 45- So bro where's the project at now? Hopefully you've adjusted to your new place and have begun working on it again.

I started putzing with it again. Didn't do the fuel system because I realized I should really make a new tank (or have one made). Last couple now working on radiator mounting/fans/purge tank for cooling system (radiator is lower than engine) / intake routing and alt. brackets & pulley system.

I'll post pics after it "looks" like something has actually been accomplished.

Looks like you've got some nice machinary over there.

If you want a nice bench mark to set youself against take a look at Stuart Meads mini over here in the UK

Currently holds the record for the quickest Mini over 1/4 mile SS 10.3 set just last weekend at the British Mini Show Down @ Avon Park Race way.

From what I can remember it's pushing out well over 400bhp from rear mounted engine with rear wheel drive.

found some video clips of it from a few years ago on this page
http://www.mini-performance.co.uk/Video%20Page.htm you maybe able to find some more recent footage around on the net.

The nice thing about it, is that it is so smooth and from the outside looks fairly standard but still very quick.

Neat, thanks for the vid. That is an awesome car. I don't know how he fit a V8 in the "standard" body (no van or pickup). I hope mine goes that straight down the track when she's done!
