Finishing up my 95 6.0L now. Should have it running in a week, driving in a little more.

Your biggest challenge will be tearing out the old engine management system and installing the new one. The airbag controller will not be happy when you remove the old PCM. I have no idea whether it would work with the LS1 PCM if you threw it onto the class 2 bus. It's entirely possible that it would. My air bag light is on now, but the 95s used a different data bus than the OBDII trucks.

Fuel system is already in place for you in terms of a suitable pump. You'll have to do motor mount adapters and work out AC, by notching the frame, getting the S&P kit, or building your own bracketry. Also depending on the mounts you use, may need to alter driveshaft length. Will need to get a 99+ transmission. Will need custom exhaust and air intake of course.

Wiring will certainly be the biggest challenge.
