Just out of curiosity, is there any particular reason you want to adapt a 'glide to a LS1? I'm not knocking it or anything, I'm just wondering.

In a light car a powerglide works great for drag racing. I had one in a '63 Nova with 400 SBC and it worked great. With the right torque converter and a broad torque band they will work better than a T350 or 400. Very little power loss through the tranny and light weight too.

greater use of the power on hand. pulls across the torque band much longer than any other automatic. less shifts= better ET. this does depend on the weight and gearing, but its very possible.

check with TCI, I installed a 99 LS1 in a front engine dragster and used a powerglide. Works grat and get some good time slips.
