TX vs AC hey guys i've recently dove headlong into researching this project. i now know that the LS1 will fit in my 240SX without much more than custom adapters for the mounts.
the difference between my situation and most is that i'm keeping the AC and power steering. if i can't or it'd be ridiculously difficult to accomplish this i'll seek out another engine (but i think its possible).
AC-
can i use my stock AC stuff in conjunction with the LS1's compressor or will there be a conflict (or lack of data needed for the GM ECM)?
P Steering-
can i just fab up some lines and use my stock rack with the LS1's pump?
i dont usually ask this many questions on forums but i can't find a single car like mine with an LS1 so i'm sort of breaking new ground. ive found two S14's but they dont have AC and even if they did i dont know the owners.

Well, from the RX7 realm, I can tell you that the power steering -will- work with lines added (assuming the 240SX has two line power steering) but your effort may be wrong. If it is, a restrictor would probably be the only way to fix it. A/C is out of my realm.
I know the ps will work off any pump- presure doesn't vary enough to make a difference. If you have a napa auto parts by you they sell adapters to change your ac lines to different sizes, so does ackits.com. Your main problem will be fitting a stock mount compressor cause it sits so low.
You might be best off to make a k-member that curves forward. Bmr can make you one if you send em your stock one.

if it just requires welding i can do it or get it done no prob. the only thing that spooks me is if the systems will peacefully coincide in my 15 year old nissan. i think the power steering is a shoe in and the AC shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
my goal is to have this under 4 grand but if it goes over that really isn't a big deal. parts acquisition begins in a few months. thanks guys, i'll be askin a lot of questions.
