Default 10 Point cage in my FD LS1 RX7

Well she is going to have a monster motor in her so I needed the cage.

Here it is: You have to follow this link because the files are too large.

It is an S&W cage that I fit and installed in the car. Not to bad for my first cage and doing it all by myself (Expect about 20 minutes of help from the old lady holding the halo so I could fit and weld it!!).

What do you all think?

Looks good! Nice job on the welds.

I see you have a rear shock tower brace. Have you thought about welding any tubing from your roll cage over to the shock tower to help brace it on a hard launch? If it were me, I would have tried to align your rear bars that way instead of the way you did it but Im probably splitting hairs at this point.

Car looks good! I love that style of RX7.

Thanks.

I did consider going to the shock towers but was told by several cage builders that the best point to mate the cage to is right where the rear subframe is. That actually going to the shock towers is LESS strong because the metal is weaker and the load transfer in an accident is better if you go to the floor.

I willprobably put an additional cross bar under the strut tower baf and make some bracing to go to the rear down bars to reduce flex.
