Default Oil pan question

Hello everyone, just want to say this looks like a great forum and I think I'll fit right in. I have a 1985 Toyota Celica GTS (RWD) and will be putting an LS1 and (hopefully) T56 into it in the near future. My main question is about the oil pan as I need a front sump set up and the Camaro I'm most likely getting an engine from (2001 Z28) has a rear sump. I looked at the pan from a new GTO but noticed that the oil filter mounts to the pan. Does the Camaro have this same setup? If not will I have to run two oil filters? Also will the pickup tube from the GTO work with the camaro block? Any help is appreciated.

Hello RWDCelicadude, you can use the 5.7 LS1 Lumina or Caprice or GTO oil pans.

The GTO complete oil pan and pickup will work on any 5.7L or 6.0 L LS1.

I replaced my Lumina LS1 engine oil pan with a complete camaro oil pan in my 240Z.

about the prices in KSA, Complete used oil pan cost about $100 and Complete new oil pan cost about $250.

Awesome, thanks. Now I'm down to motor mounts and header clearance.

Default Holden

Use a LS1 Holden pan. Street and Performance sells them. I used one on my conversion. Don't forget to get the Holden oil pickup as well. Allowed me to move the engine way back and low.
Expect to do some reworking of the transmission tunnel.

Regarding motormounts...
I assume you have a front crossmember in the celica. The easiest thing to do is take the engine block mated to the trans (optimally hooked to the driveshaft and rear , if not make sure you have the right angle on the motor. The rear of the motor should be slightly lower than the front and a straight line to the rear diff)
Use the stock LS1 motor mounts. Put the long bolt through the mounts. Take a rough measurement from the bolt to your cross member on either side of the mount, stagger each side, one straight up , one angled in. Drill a hole in the tubing for the bolt and trim the length of the tubing as necessary. Tack weld them in (keeping in mind where your headers are going)and remove everything and finish welding/reinforcing the mounts.
