i used a flowtech header kit to make mine. after looking at the options, $2,000+ and fab for burns, $1200+ and fab for stainless works the flowtech kit is a great way to go unless you car needs to be about dropping names. i have @$200 in the kit + @ 3-4 hours in fab time. so i can build a set in this style for @$600 or so... this is pretty attractive considering some of the truck manifold setups will easily hit $600 by the time you pay someone to fab up a y pipe or whatevers needed locate the manifolds, etc. if thats an option for you i do have a few sets of truck maniflods though, cheap.

Do you have a part number for this by any chance? Looks to be exactly what I am after.

Thanks,
Chris

Stainless Works makes a set for under $1000. They don't look as pretty as the pics above, but they work. I was considering SW for my 1969 Camaro twin-turbo build, but decided that N/A was what my budget would allow for. Contact Billy Scott over at Stainless Works and tell him what you need and he'll take good care of you. You need to know that the set of headers for under $1000 is NOT made of stainless steel though.

I might be mistaken but I thought the truck manifolds will not work in a turbo setup (front facing) for a first gen f-body as the OP is asking about?

I've seen it done twice...just depends on the fabricator skills. The thing about most turbo set-ups is that they are custom pieces...with a little bit of forethought, ingenuity, proper parts and a whole lotta money, anything can be made to work.

not trying to represent the flowtech kit as stainless at all the kit is $200 shipped from speedway at most. just jump on their site and look up ls1 header kit and they have two diameters 1 5/8 and 1 3/4 i think.

my theory on this was if all these guys on here can make massive power out of stock lq4/9's with truck manifolds im gonna try with a set of equal length tubular turbo headers. if it doesnt work or i do it wrong im out less than $200 and a few hours of my time.
