Bimmer
Briefly the car is a rust free 1977 BMW 530i that has been striped. I'm going to reinstall the headliner and I used the original dash but the rest of the car is to be done with weight savings as the primary goal. ie no back seat, no bumpers, no sunroof, fiberglass hood, racing seats etc. Right now it's at 2350lbs. I building it as a sleeper.
Has a fuel cell, wilwood master cylinders (3) and pedals, dash mounted brake bias control, dash activated locker rear(from an Audi 5000 turbo quatrro good for 600 ftlbs of torque). The engine compartment is very clean. I moved everything under the dash including the pcm. 90 percent of the engine wiring is hidden in the wiper motor well. Rewired the car with a Painless 18 circuit system using H4 headlights. column mounted toggle switches for the directionals and hazards. dash switches for the wipers and horn. (I hate column mounted stalks. If you autocross you'll know why)
I cut the firewall and moved the engine back and as low as possible using a front sump Holden oil pan. Made a custom trans tunnel
Motor is pretty stock except for a ZO6 cam, modified ligenfelter intake, larger granetelli MAF, Jet-Hot headers , the standard LS1EDIT program mods and the motor and clutch assembly has been fully balanced. I'm using a flowmaster camaro muffler mounted in front of the rear wheels so the exhaust will crossover and exit just beforethe rear wheels. No cats.
I converted from a steering box to a rack and pinion. Brakes and suspension have been totally rebuilt and upgraded with stiffer lowering coils, sway bars shocks and adjustable camber/caster plates on the front. Stainless steel hard and flex brake lines,225/16s in front, 235/16s in rear on light weight rims.
Lot of other little mods but that's the major stuff. Happy to take more pictures if you are interested in a particular aspect
