2000 LS-1 in '98 Camaro !?? Hi
I have a 1998 Camaro automatic with a dead LS-1 ! Is it possible to put a 2000 LS-1 engine in the car, from a Camaro with manual transm. and use the '98 wiring and computer ??
I live in Denmark, and LS-1's are hard to find, so I could buy this eng. from a crashed Camaro, resting in Sweden !!

Sure. Just transfer your flexplate, oil pressure sending unit, and coolant temp sensor over to the 2000 engine, hook it all up to your 98 harness and you should be good to go! Be sure you get the coil packs with the newer engine, as they mount differently than your 98 engine, but it all plugs in the same.

Heck, we put the heads from a 99, on a 2001 truck block, into my g/f's 1998 Camaro. My Formula has 1998 heads on a 2000 truck block. Everything in the "Gen-III/IV family" bolts up identically.
Nope thats why all of us here drive the generals best. Only ford pulls that crap. Only choice is either auto or stick and you can add or delete trans functions with very little hassle.
