Talking LS2 in a Gen 4 TA?

Has anyone thought about, or tried, or will, stick the 6.0 liter GTO engine into a 4th gen TA (98-01)? I test drove an 05 GTO and WOOT! Crazy torque. That engine in a TA would make for some serious neck snapping, not to mention some serious autocross power. Hm, what's the weight difference from the LS1 to the LS6? Anybody have a list of things needed to change and work with the chassis, first I can think of would be a swap from the electric throttle body to the cable type.

externally, the blocks should be exactly the same as the ls1's that came in the trans ams. You can reuse stuff like your throttle body and cable throttle for simplicity.

what year ls2, 24x or 58x reluctor wheel?

24x, you simply need some extension cables for the sensors, and then it just drops in, using the ls1 harness and ls6 intake setup/cable throttlebody.

But other than a ls2 being cheap, the power difference is not drastic. Here is my stock 2006 GTO with a 10 minute tune, compared to my 110K mile 1998 WS6 with longtube headers and ls6 intake and a 30 minute tune. Run 4 is the GTO, and Run 11 is the 98 Ws6.

If the LS2 has a 58X Reluctor wheel you can still drop it in your T/A. Lingenfelter has a moduale that converts the 58X Signal to the 24X. I swapped and 2006 GTO engine in my 98 Camaro and I just had to get a Cam/Knock sensor extension and a few other minor things. Its not that hard to do.
