Default Can anything else go wrong?

Well I just recieved my Hawks longtubes yesterday, and after some trouble with the steering shaft on the driver side header I got them all installed and the 02's hooked up and the car running again. I also had to fix some steerin alignment problems, and yesterday i got some of it fixed, but set the rest of for me to finish today. Well in order to align the steering I had to take one of the tierods out, and long story short, while backing the tie rod out (its double threaded, revearse thread and a standard thread) the end of the threads on the revearse thread side got messed up . I tried to fix it but i just got more messed up. I was told that it would be hard to find a reverse thread die as big as the tie rod, and after i screwed around with it I doubt it could even be died. I will probably try and see if hawks can send me a new tie rod, but does any one else have any ideas? Im just stick of stuff going wrong.

PS. I have an appleton rack and pinion that hawks sells.

Man that sux, but how far off was it to where you had to back it all the way out? This is why I leave the alignment up to the pros for $50. I would think any part store would have a new tie rod, but I could be wrong. When you do get one, throw it in the front seat and have the car towed to a shop somewhere. For how cheap it is to get done plus all the machines they have to get it right, you just cant beat it. And... no headaches.

I wanna hear some sound clips with the LT's when its back on the road. Good luck.

Well I just wanted to align it enough to drive it to an alignment shop and have them do it correctly, but that didnt work out too well. I dont know if this a special type of tierod or what because of the rack and pinion. I am going to give Bruce a call monday and see what he can do. I just hope I didnt mess up the threads on the part that the tie rod threads into, it looks ok to me, but Im not sure. Well see. I was backing it out in order to tighten the tie rod end on all the way because i didnt have enough leverage to do it under the car.

I wanna take a video clip of the car, but I cant get the footage from the video camera to the computer without some converter. And my moms digital camera cant handle the decibles that the car puts out so the quality is really bad. So im not sure how im going to do it, but Ill find a way.
