Well the ElCo is at the muffler shop getting a new exhaust. I never was happy with the old exhaust sound, so I figured it was time to change after 10 years lol. The old exhaust is a dual 3 inch with an H pipe with Xcelerator mufflers. I never liked the sound or the drone. Now it is getting dual 2.5 inch with an X pipe and stainless works mufflers. Here's a video with the old exhaust. I'll put a new one up after its done.

That sounded pretty good, for a daily though, I see why you are investing in a quieter exhaust though.

Mic on your camera did a great job BTW!

Looks awesome. Im happy to see more pictures of the car. The stance is just right, I think I'm gonna swap in 1inch springs as well on the back to bring mine back up some too. Very sharp car, are you gonna retain the factory ac box? Or go aftermarket like vintage air etc..

Funny you ask. I just got off the phone with my dad discussing this same dilemma. I'm leaning more towards Vintage Air. I would like to pull factory AC box and clean up the firewall. Plus, I think the Vintage Air would perform a little better. I would recommend the 1" springs. They have the perfect ride height for me.

How's that new exhaust working for you?

Thanks. It sounds awesome at WOT, but drones way too much at cruising speed.

Getting rid of the factory ac box really opens it up in there, I am going to order vintage air soon. And I agree with the springs, did your 285s ever rub before? Also I am loving my exhaust, it's pretty quiet cruising and I think when I get the interior all together the drone won't bother me. It's not bad at all. How did your exhaust turn out?

The exhaust turned out awesome! It was exactly what I was looking for. I don't know why I waited so long in first place. There is no drone and it has a great sound. A little more discreet too. My 285's did rub on the outer lip under hard left hand cornering. They don't anymore after the spring swap. My rear wheels are 17×10's, but it's been so long I can't remember the backspacing. Maybe 5". Here's some pics of the new exhaust. I'll try to get a video.

I haven’t added anything to this in a long time. I recently replaced both stainless fuel lines after our wonderful California gas eventually destroyed them. I went with the Earls hose. Worked out great. I also changed the wheels after 14 years of running the 17” Boyd Coddington Smoothie 2’s. I wanted something a little more updated and went with 18” US Mag Ramblers.

The fronts are 18x8 and rears are 18x9.5. Zero rubbing

The next addition will be Dakota Digital VHX gauges. Anyone using the gauges with the obd adapter? I’m curious if it worked as well as it looks it will. 🍻

Nice car and I'm also bringing a 70 Elky back from the dead. I hope mine looks half as good as yours. You have a very good looking and sounding EC.

I have the DD OBD2 BIM in my car. Started off with the original -1 BIM and VHX gauges in 2013 and now how the -2 BIM with the VHX gauges. Both work great! I would definitely recommend it!

BTW, the new wheels look great. I had a set of Budnik Famosas I bought for my car in 2004. I swapped in a set of Boze Lat-gs in my car last year, totally transformed my car!

Thanks! I was pretty surprised what the new wheels did for the look. What’s your project?

Your truck sounds awesome but your silver to blue lower body paint transition is what I want mine to look like. I had forgotten that the transition occurred at that trim so if you don't mind, I grabbed a screen shot out of your You Tube video as a reminder for me later when I get around to paint.

Really. Nice. Car. You. Have!!
