There is no way to fit a ls1 sideways in a 3000gt. The 3.0 v6 is a squeeze as it is. The only way i could see it possible is to convert a vr4 to rwd. I don't really see the advantage though. Those cars weigh 3600-3800 lbs depending on the model. Watch as soon as I post this someone shows an example of a 3000gt vr4 with a ls1 in it transversely. Make it happen!

Transmission is the problem with that car anyway.
No way you'd be able to fit a decent transmission AND the LS1 in there.

They're pigs too, as stated.
Had mine to 162 on the autobahn though......

Umm they did it with the GTO...

A 4T60E or that ?# that was in the old caddy FWD boats which is like a transverse 200R4 would work...

But why?

There is a reason why there are alot of fast DSMs and so few 3k VR4s in the 10's...

sorry homer, the 3k/stealth cars have manual only in the awd, and they're all getrag transmissions, so how exactly is a 200r4 in any way like those German transaxles?

Its not its stronger. It would make it FWD which is why I said why do it? The nose is probably too short and the hood too low to go longitudinal RWD...

RX7s are the prime canadate for a domestic V8 swap...

I have seen the 3s cars pop the trans before like holes in the case.. The center diff on them blows too... There is no upgrade unlike a DSM awd trans where you can buy aftermarket 4 spider diffs, quaifes and even spools... The 2g DSM trans has a better track record at the strip..
