Default 6.0L harness

Will a 6.0L wiring harness and ECM from a 2003 2500 Chevy Van w/4L80E work with an aluminum block engine from a late model Firebird or Camaro?

How about the opposite? Will a harness from a late model Carmaro or Firebird control a 4L80E trans without an adapter? I know about the Speartech adapter but don't want to spend the cash if I already have the parts to get the job done. I am planning to run a 5.7L aluminum block engine with a 4L80E trans and am trying to figure out how I am going to wire it... and if it can be done with a stock harness and stock ECM alone.

Thanks, -Dave

The Fbody harness will not control the 80e as far as I know, the adaptor would be your best bet on that setup.
I know Parish8 used that, or somethign similar to get the 80e to work in his 1500 truck.

Or you can get ahold of Painless and see what they can do for that setup, I'd imagine they have something, or could get you something working.

Cool... can I use the truck harness and computer with the 4L80E and an aluminum block 5.7L out of a late model Firebird or Camaro??

Yes it will be fine the harness and pcm are oblivious to what engine they are installed on. the 6.0, 5.7, 4.8 are more or less the same. Just think of them as old school 350's and 305 and you will be ok. The 5.7 will run fine with 6.0 programming if you are short on funds to have it re-programmed. But you will have to program out the passlock for the engine to start.

Default Recalibration

If you need the computer recalibration, I can do that for you, so you can run as true to the application as possible. Remove anti-theft, correct gear and tire and trans operation. 200.00
