I noticed you mentioned using a mercedes based 5spd. If you're thinking of using the 722.6, which is their current five speed for all their high hp applications, I really doubt you'll break it. That's the transmission they use in the SL65 AMG that makes 740lbft from 2000-4000 rpm. Just something to think about if you need a solid tranny.

I drove a AWD magnum with a hemi.... Its a smooth quick shifting transmission.... Assuming DC puts that trans in the Magnum... It just needs a adapter I will need to make and a custom harness to a aftermarket PCM....

I hope I find a totaled out AWD magnum... The brakes are huge and the front spindles perfect for the job.

Oh and Gbody... I bet you all 20 of your posts that my "pile of transmission breaking crap" can laydown a solid 10sec et on the same tires, same fuel and the same weight as when I go to the supermarket...

I sure see alot of dead 4L60E's.... I also know I killed a 700R4 and a Th350 back in the day... I even shot some 10 bolt diff shards out a diff pan...

After a while you grow up and learn to build things better. You also learn to drive them for performance without shock loading..

Sure smoked a camaro 3rd gen with "ICE" mods like tint and wheels... It looked nice but the owner was'nt much of a gear head nor mechanic. The guy was at a racer and mechanic buddies house... He said Imports are slow even with turbos.. Ethanol is weak etc..... There was atleast a 5 sec difference on that 1/4 run... Sterio systems and 18" chrome wheels slow down an already slow stock automatic RS camaro....

He should have listened when my friend who has a handfull of big olds engined cars.. Even a DRCE block in one... said... I dont think you know what you are getting into... That little red thing is fast...

Later he said he wished he had told him that without slicks on his fastest street legal car I even beat him..

I'm a dodge/chrysler auto tech, and have seen problems first hand the problems with the LX (magnum,300,charger) axles/diff housing under normal abuse, just wondering if it is going to be a relieable part for you, the NAG 1 trans is pretty relieable though

Thats why I was considering a ford 8.8" IRS.. Use a markV or t-bird turbo rear housing and a reverse rotation truck ring and pinion...

The rear end will be a fab9

I think its because only one out the 15 knew enough to build it right, tune it right and had the inteligence and self control to launch it right....

In the right hands that trans can handle 1000hp.... You just cant tap into everything you have the first part of the 60ft or else it will blow and blow bad...
Um

Preload the car, and use a twin disck

**** clutchs like ACTs like to kill transmissons, and also take out that center diff and replace it with a spool

Twin disk, preload, NLTS, and a spool takes care of alot of problem

Back from the dead.

Nothing more to be said.
