Default Clutch pedal helper spring

Has anyone installed the Clutch pedal spring when converting to a hydraulic clutch? The factory F-body setup uses a spring to add tension the first part of pedal travel, then to subtract tension the second part.

I did not install a spring and noticed that when I push the pedal, it is really light for the first few inches then becomes very stiff towards the floor. I think adding the spring would make the pedal feel more even, but not really sure how to do it with my setup.

What have you all done?

i left it off..... are you sure you dont have any air trapped in the master cyl? mine is fairly constant the entire travel..... same with the stock fbodies with the spring off...

No air that I know of, but I can check. Do you just bleed the system from the trans or do you have to do a bench bleed of the master like on the brakes?

ive had the best luck by first bleeding the slave at the trans normally, then going back and using a mity-vac in the master cyl reservoir... that usually gets the last airbubbles out...

theres a how-to on the manual trans board about it, but i couldnt find it just now... (the search here SUCKS sometimes.)
