Electric throttle body conversion.

I am interested in adding the C5 electric throttle body to my car. If I get the pedal, throttle body and TAC module, what else do I need? Is there any interaction (other than traction control) between the TAC and anything else or is it pretty much a stand alone system?

I am considering this too since the LS7 is set up this way. According to Speartech you also will need a C5 PCM which seems like a real bummer

What about using a truck/avalanche/tahoe/suburban pcm?? they also use electronic TB's??

John, you can still use your F-body PCM. I talked to John at Speartech and he said you just need to have it flashed to a Corvette. The basic pinouts are the same and you won't have to change your harness other than adding the two wires for the TAC.

Now I remember the discussion! I was bummed because I would have to buy another LS1_Edit license to do this

LS1Edit? Come on John... At least upgrade to HPTuners or EFILive!

I don't know about the Corvette guys but the '05 GTO guys are having issues with the pot in the pedals failing. I think it's a different setup from the Corvette/truck but it's something to look into. So far I haven't had any problems with my Goat. (Knock on wood.)

That's part of the problem Matt.....even if I upgrade then I still need to buy another package since I'm sure that the math based LS7 PCM will require a different set-up entirely and I'm not up to spending upwards of $1500 on just software beteween my LS1_Edit, upgrading to HPT and then buying another HPT or whatever to do the LS7 PCM when it comes out!
