Default ls1 in a 1953 chevy 2 door

hi guys im new here. just thought id tell you all a little about my current project. its a 2door 53 chevy. im using a ls1/4l60e combo from a 02 camaro. im going to be using a 9 inch rear end. im hoping to start striping it all down in the next few months.

anyone done one similar?

There have been several 55 to 57's done. I don't know how many 53's have been done or are being done.

believe it or not, i dont think it will be too hard to get it in there. the new front crossmember im looking at actually looks like i will be able to use the stock oil pan. the motor mounts are set back like 2 inches from the lower cross member. ill still might have to rework it, but not so much. i figure ill have to recess the fire wall, but i figured i would have to do that even with a carbed 350.

So how did it work out? I am in the middle of doing the same for my 14 year old daughter, could use some advice.
