lt1 alternator wiring help
lt1 alternator help put an lt1 one alternator in my 81 camaro in place of my one wire alt. what do i need to wire up for the alt to charge the battery, it doesnt have the stock harness so not to worry about guages and such, just want it to charge the battery.
the wire off the back goes to the battery as normal.
you will need to get a connector for the alt, as one of the wires needs to be connected to 12v+ to turn the voltage regulator on. this function is needed for charging to take place.
im unsure the exact wire. i think the brown wire.
dont blow anything up.
you can convert it to a regular 1 wire at a starter and alternator service shop.
