'67 camaro oil pan, headers...
I'm kinda frustrated. Normal long tube headers for my '67 with a small block chevy cost $350-400 for a set of coated with 1 3/4" primaries, 3" collectors, right? 200 or so for uncoated. S&P's and Stainless works headers all cost to the north of 700.. I sure aint payin that much for headers. Dynatech sells the LS1 header flange for like 50 bucks. Grinding the normal flanges off a set of uncoated hooker super comps, maybe tig welding them to the dynatech flanges, and having them coated would cost less, as well as allow me to run an exhaust made for the '67... I dont know. I really don't want to do that. There's gotta be a good solution to this. The prices for conversion longtubes are ridiculous. Anyone help? Also, will the GTO oil pan (front sump) work on my camaro without notching? Anyone know how much John's pans cost? John?

Already on the motor . (99 vette powerplant) That'd prob be the cheapest and easiest solution, huh. I'm not going real big with the engine anyways. (slightly agressive cam, maybe heads down the road..) Coated headers look so pretty though. Gonna go with a 2 1/2 or 3 inch down from there, to cutouts, then X pipe, then dual mufflers and dumps. Unless there's a good long tube header solution.. anyone?

I think BBC headers could easily have the flange cut off and the LS1 flanges welded on since the tube spacing is similar. you'll still have closer to $600-700 in them though unless you can weld/modify them yourself. how about a mid-length LS1 header? those might fit.......

Satistraction, Why did you modify the headers? was the tube touching something or was it too low, I like the Stainless works headers bit if I can save a little, The guy above says he used Pacesetter LT in his 79 which is front steer, they probably wouldn't work in a rear steer, Thanks Steve

You're correct. Mine wouldnt fit either. The collector hit the p/s box, and my master cylinder for my clutch was really close to it, too. Ordered my Pacesetter offroad LT's tonight from summit =)
