Default Twin turbo 71 Chevelle finally runs!

I finally have my '71 Chevelle up and running with the twins! Pretty good too! I have yet to get it to the track and have only used 10 lbs of boost, but this thing is FAST! Last year all motor I was going 123 in the quarter. From my street blasts, I would say I am sitting at around the 130-135 mph range with 10 psi. That is my best guess with my butt-o-meter.

I am very impressed with the turbo setup and it is a very well thought out design. Being that this is only a street car, I am wondering if I should turn up the boost. I am sitting at abut 11:1-11.2:1 AFR with 17 degrees of timing.

Pics:

Looks bad ***! What engine management are you running?

That is a PTE FMIC and 4.5" thick? I had the same one I was going to use in my GN/RX-7 setup. Nice piece.

Who made the headers/downpipes etc? Looks clean. Is the car an auto or M6?

Th intercooler is a 3.5" thick spearco 182 core with tanks I custom made myself. I run the stock pcm with a 3 bar map and Flashscan.

I made the 321 stainless headers and 304 stainless downpipes myself.

I run a t400 with a brake and 3.42 gears with a 4000 stall.

Thanks for all the compliments!!

Wow, I'm impressed. Beautiful work. Once you get a tune that thing is going to ROCK!! I would appreciate a detailed parts list so I can dream a little. I hope you have a good a/f monitor.

Default Nice work

I love the header configuration and routing, great job. Are you going jet coat the headers, you did such a great job on the fab work, it would suck to loose those beauties to rust.

I run an 17" x 11" rear rim with about 6 1/8 backspace. They are the Bf goodrich drag radial tires. Last year I ran a Pirelli road race tire in the same size. They were $300 per tire and hooked like crap. I ran a 1.67 60'. These tires hook twice as good because they are not a road race tire with stiff sidewalls. It should hook a 1.50 something 60' this year. I ran an 11.00 at 123 with the pumpgas motor last year. That was not an Ls1.

As far as the headers. They are 321 stainless and I built them and the entire system myself.

I will try to find some pics of the car.

Thanks for all the compliments!

Damn that's a nice car. I love old school muscle. My dad had 3 tricked out Chevelles when he was younger. When I asked him why he didn't keep one he said because he couldn't fit a carseat in the back. I was like since when!!! lol. Anyway very nice car man. When are you gonna run it at the track so we can see what this baby can do?
