Default PCV set up

Considering doing some sort of catch can set up instead of running line back to intake. I think it should cut down on the crud build up in the intake. Anyone else done this or have suggestions on best setup?

My setup runs a line from both valve covers into a catch can with a line back out to the intake to put vacuum on it.

I still have the fresh air run to the valve cover intact.

You could get an LS6 valley cover and PCV tube. It's a lot better than the LS1 setup. The line on the valve cover gets plugged with this mod. The valve is on a loop that goes from the valley cover to the intake.

Thanks for the replys. After looking at this I don't think my original idea is going to work. With the length of the small tubing and no vacumn I don't think it will vent well enough. Guess I'll go with the PCV to catch can to intake. May look at the LS6 set up again too. If I ever want to do it now's the time with the engine already out.

My engine is out also, I started the LS6 conversion today following the guide at LS1howto.com. I had to order my parts, so while waiting for them I did the Dremel work. Actually I used a 1/4 inch die grinder instead of a Dremel tool. It went smoothly. In addition to the steps indicated in the instructions to contain the aluminum shavings I also taped my shop vac nozzle up close to the work and had it running while I was cutting.

http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=18

I made the mistake of ordering my parts from the local dealer, should have got them from GmPartsdirect.com, I woulda saved more money than switching to Geico. I'm sure my local dealer charges list price. I won't make that mistake again. Even with that the cost was less than $100.

Go for it, it's not that hard.
