Sounds great. Sory I can't help. FAST makes a wiring harness set up for that type of application. Any site sponsor should be able to help. Post some pic's of the car.

Do a search for "wiring harness" and I'm sure you'll come up with a few results. I've never purchased any, as of yet, but there area a few good harness makers out there.

I went with SpearTech for my harness and it was a simple install. He elliminated all that was not needed and made the connections only a simple hand full and clearly labeled. Oh, and the harness was custom made to my exact length with new wiring so it was virtually a new harness.

My engine fired right up the first try.

I am sure others can do the same quality but all I can speak for is SpearTech, oh I got great support for my questions. Give them a call and John at SpearTech can answer anyquestions.

We do custom harnesses for any application, and have made harnesses for several early Corvettes. We are just finishing up a harness now for an LS2 going into a 59 Corvette.

Check out our web site or let me know if I can help.

Oldred,

I don't think anyone mentioned it yet, but you will need to re-use your existing body harness or get a new one in addition to the ls1 engine harness.

Good luck... sounds like a great conversion.

Sure, I'm almost done with my 1960 Corvette conversion go to: http://faculty.delhi.edu/purdysd and click on the "conversion" page on the left frame.
I'm using a Street & Performance wiring harness, and a Painless chassis harness. Scott

That sure is "purdy" scott. I had to do it, I'm sure you've never heard that before. I'm confused though. On your site it states C1 to C4 conversion but you're using the LS1? Is it a C4 frame? It looks like a custom frame. VERY nice work and I'm sure we all hope to see completed pics.

Well, it's a tube frame from SRIII, that uses C4 suspension, but I'm using an LS1 and a T-56 trans. So I guess it's a C4-5 or something! Been doing the wiring this week, and it's coming along real well so it'll be done early spring.

Hey Scott.. a bit off topic but I need to ask...

Are you running Aldan coil-overs on your front suspension? If so, do you have the number/specs of the shock?

Here is a link to some pics of my C1 conversion as well. It also is a SRIII frame with a LS1. There are also some pics of a 65 Corvette chassis from SRIII that I am putting a LS2 in.

John, thanks for the info. I've been restoring solid axle Corvettes for over 25 years, and always thought that the ignition switches were identical. (I was trying to use a '60 sw.) Now I find out that the 61-62 switch is hot on the ign terminal when the switch is in the start position! Which is just what I need for the LS1 computer . ( it turns out that was to bypass the balast resistor in case of wiring problems) thanks.
