I don't know if it is the cheapest, but it seems to be one of the easiest. If your tank is over 7.5 inches deep, then you would not need a sump with this pump.

And here is a link to an actual install.

I am using one of their tanks and pumps in my swap, just ordered them. Once I get to that point I will post how they worked.

Unless you are dead set on keeping the stock tank, id go to a cell.
Aluminum or plastic, but many of the car specific swap tanks are megabucks.
NM just saw the above link, seems like a good plan if you can go that route and install the pump/pickup in your stock tank.

Not sure about the camaro trunk, but in my foxbody mustang a rci 12gallon fit great in the spare tire well without having to cut anything up(except for the hole for the sump)
You should be able to fit a 16gallon no problem if the floor is flat, and you dont need the truck room...

I buy my tanks from Rock Valley. They are 100% stainless, and have a nice well that keeps the pump submerged under all conditions. They are not cheap, but they are money well spent, especially if you don't want to give up trunk space for a fuel cell!
