Truck LS1 spark plug wires ....
I have read somewhere that the LS1 truck spark plug wires are 1" longer than the car LS1 wires is this correct? I need number 8 coil wire longer about 1" and thought I would just purchase a new set of truck wires and put them on all cylinders.
So since most catalogs and parts stores go by make and model then what GM truck should I look up?

Yes, the truck wires are longer. We took a set from my truck engine and put them on my sons 2002 Trans Am. He had installed valve cover spacers and the original wires were too short. My engine is the LQ4 from a 2002 Silverado 2500 HD.

Yes the truck wires are about an inch longer than the LS1 wires. I just needed one longer wire, so I went to the GM dealer and they sell individual wires. I got one for a 2005 Tahoe with the 5.3L engine, because I tried one from mine and it fit. I think wires from any truck 1999 and up will work.

Thanks for the info about going to the dealer to get a single spark plug wire. I went to the dealer an picked up a truck wire for $14. The Corvette wires are about 7 inches and there are two different lengths for the truck wires. I think 9 inches and 10 inches. I got the longest truck wire part number 12192133.
I will put it on Thursday night and see how the length works out.
(I just installed the truck spark plug wire and it fit great giving me all the room I needed. 10-13-2005)
