i understand what you mean now about your suspension. no doubt thats going to be a bad car when you get it finished. what are you going to do for a roof? also what engine combo are you putting in it?

Do you have a lot of experience with aerodynamics and that sort of thing? The body style looks cool but is it mainly for looks and your hoping it’ll perform or is everything your building a proven design that performs like a race car?

It would suck if you spent all that time and money and when you get the car up to speed it feels like crap.

Joe...

I am not an aerodynamisist (if that is a word), but I am familular with the subject. There are certain things on the car that I know are not very aerodynamicly sound. Lots on the car is just for looks. I am trying to make a compromise between the two. I am not spending much money. Just a couple hundred dollars for the sheetmetal.

The engine is an ls6 it will have a Kinsler Fuel injection intake [IMG][/IMG]

It has a shortened C5 Vette torque tube, with a rear mounted vette tranny with a z06 differential

That is friggin' wicked. I absolutly love it. I believe it's going to suck to the ground like nothing else and be dirty fast.

I'm in the area and I'm seriously up for lending a hand. Let me know bro!

Also, I was looking into getting a constructed title and have a good idea how to go about doing it. I've got a lawyer close in the family with a few paralegal buddies that can get the paperwork pushed through also, heh.

That is really nice. I like it a lot. After my TA is paid off I wanna do a project car. I can weld and I am a cnc machinist, but I know my project won't be at that high level of fabrication. Looks good!

Looks cool man, cant really judge the front yet without the headlights etc. Seriously jealous though. I would love to be able to make something like that. Goodluck!

awesome....as soon as my truck is finished i am planning on doing a complete custom just like yours (well not just like it, but similiar in that it will be a custom body of that style ). So I am watching your buildup carefullly!!! Looks good in rough form ...cant wait to see the details coming along. You may want to pick up a sheetmetal forming book. Forming some curved fenders isnt that difficult, just takes a sandbag and an english wheel pretty much. Always something to keep in mind if you want to try for something more curvy. Not saying the sharp cornered body cant be cool though.
Keep it up

looks koool!! i have an idea...... might not be possible though. okay here goes- forget the front wheel wells alltogether for a minute and just think about a smooth front end section that lets your front suspention move clear outside of the body. then do fenders over your wheels that ride up and down with your suspention-they could be 1/4 in away from your tire and never rub even with 6in of travel haha. i hope this is clear enough..... i realize its hard to understand. but im just saying kind of like a formula 1 car but with fenders that ride up and down w/ the front suspention and dont attach to the actual body.

Already thought of that. I even thought of having the fenders turn with the wheels

I am still not ruleing it out.

Good idea

Thanks

This is going to be the Coolest thing ever..
If it makes its way to a polished product, which I'm sure is going to happen by the progress thus far, I'd see a couple magazines taking shots of it. It's so original.

I will find some pics of the front. However, it is difficult to see how it really looks with out the radiator holes and intake on.

Thanks for the posts

That is way cool. I recently got a tube frame chassis from a car from a no longer existing circle track class. It has not stock frame. Its all tubes. It is set up for front engine/RWD but there is plenty of room to make it mid engine. I am trying to find a transaxle that will bolt up to an LS1. If there is nothing that will help me decide to go with a 250hp Dodge V6 from an Intrepid. Those FWD cars have the engine mounted North South instead of transverse which I like better even though I did the opposite on my 914.
