honestly the chassis looks awesome!!! on the body i would take it to a shop that deals with the paved and dirt track chassied cars.

Hey Boss.....

I want to offer constructive criticism, so please take this that way.

In looking at the car, the proportions just seem a little off to me. Specifically, the cage / windshield height relative to the "door" and fender elevations.

I think if you moved the top of the doors up and removed the arc from the rear fenders (basically flattened them out where they come up and over the rear tires) that would help the proportions. That would also help the front fenders not look quite so tall, by minimizing the distance that it comes back down to meet the door lines.

Obviously this would impact the egress into and out of the vehicle, so you'd need to see whether my suggestion is practical or not. And I expect you're using a rollcage tube as that upper door sill, so you'd need some structure (probably not practical to move that tube) to support that surface when you move it up.

Again, I'm trying to offer constructive criticism. I think the project looks really cool, but seems to just be off by a little bit. Not sure if the cage / door proportions are what it is, but that's what jumped out at me (from the 2 side views at least).

I agree with the windshield being too tall...it is difficult to change that because like you said I have to get in and out of the car. Its funny you keep saying these things because they are all exactly what I am thinking. Just like the rear fender. I am tring a straight one etc. We will see

Sorry if you took my comment wrong about the english wheel Argon I think the car looks great I just know that to get the compound shapes that an english wheel is the most practical way to do it. If I may add to the constructive criticism pool I think if you smoothed out hte transition of the front fenders in relating to the slope on the front end it would make the car seen longer and less squished. Maybe i am wrong but its something that stuck out to mean and its and idea.

Not at all. I did not take anything wrong. I NEVER get upset. I would love to use an english wheel and make all kinds of cool compound curves...but i also want to get this thing done before im tool old to drive it.

Keep up the good work. Its looking great. Keep on getting it, and soon you'll be driving it......

Once you get to driving it, you can always rework little stuff if you so desire. The beauty of this kind of creation is it does't have to be static. If you built a '69 Camaro, you wouldn't think of taking the nose off and putting a '55 T-bird nose on. But you've got free reign to do whatever you'd like, when you'd like to do it. If you put it together, and decide you still don't like a particular area, you can always try again (with plenty of time since the car is driveable)

I like your attitude. Nothing seems to phase you (which is good) and you've got plenty of enthusiasm (which is definitely needed for a project of this magnitude).

And your plan of attack is excellent. Put it together & start driving it. Simple bodywork is a great plan. You can always make it more complicated later, if you want to.

Again, kudos to you. You're doing what most of us only dream of doing, building our own car from the ground up!

Thats the spirit no reason it has to have a body to drive it just get it on the road and have fun with it before it gets too awfully cold. Then maybe you can worry about a body when your snowed in.

If you've built that car.
Than doing curved surfaces with sheet metal ought to be no problem.

You would be amazed what you can do with rubber mallets, a couple C-clamps ,wood and steel 2by4's.

You can make all the curves in the world with just hand tools and patience.

Now fancy machines do make a faster.
