Default traction control in a conversion

has anyone adapted traction control in a conversion/hybrid situation?
what would you need ? would the traction control be able to be adjusted with any of the tuning software available ? kind of a hypothetical question but might be something i"d like to try to really suprise people at the autocross meets/trackdays. any help, comments or humorous anectdotes would be appriciated
p.s. this would be for a 402/408 t-56 going in my 68 camaro

I can't help you too much technically but if you do this let me know. As soon as I figure out how I'm taking the TCS off of my car. Maybe we can work out a deal.

You need wheelspeed sensors from a car that was already equipped with ABS and run a traction control device called RaceLogic. If you had C4 front/rear suspension it could be done and adapt the Vette sensors... otherwise it will be pretty cost prohibitive I'd imagine.

Why not just put some Hoosier 335/35/18's out back and gear appropriately?

I road race and have 285/30/18 R compound tires all around with 3:90's... in 2nd I can blow the tires off if I want to, but you simply modulate the pedal. In 3rd I can put the power down nicely and 4th is no problemo. 2800lbs/440rwhp/385rwtq

I would really like to have some 3:50 or 3:27 gears; however the stock Mazda RX-7 choices are 3:90/4:10 or deeper...

Interesting, funny I have 3.23:1 with 255/40-17 tires(~same size as a 285/30-18) and I'm wishing for 3.64:1 or perhaps 3.9:1(choices for the BMW diff I have). I road course the car as well, and can imagine with the smaller tires smoke them off in second as well. Cornering hard it's a drift machine in most any gear but easy to modulate and easy to drive in a gear to high.

Do you just want the gearing for a specific track or do you find the 3.9 too short?

Sorry for the hijack...

LS1Swapper-I have a 402 in mind.... so higher gears would be better....

You are going to need more tire than that if you do cam/heads.... I'm sure your high gearing helps a bunch though.

The car in 3rd and 4th pulls like a **** with the 346ci/AFR 205/LS6/233/239 cam setup..... I've dipped into 5th going down the straight for about 3-4 seconds which I imagine is 155mphish at Thunderhill going down the front straight into turn 1 braking to about 110mph and zooming thru in 4th.

I'm most likely going to put 335/35/18's out back and keep the 3:90's. My other option is the Viper Dana 44 3:07 rear end I have and get some custom 300M axles. Infinite gear ratio choices.... Basically a homemade traction control.....

what i was thinking was using ls1 rear discs which should have a wheel speed sensor for abs . what i'm not sure about is if the traction control "stuff" is in the pcm or the bcm in a f-body with traction control and if i'm just barking up the wrong tree. also i have a 1968 camaro so ultra wide rear tires are problematic without major sheetmetal/wheeltubbing (I"m going to minitub it but that will get me 275/295 width tires in back at most) thanks for all the input

You'll need our front spindles to pull this off easily.

They are forged from 6061 T6 aluminum, use a sealed hub assembly from a C5 Corvette with intergrated wheel speed sensors, and are 1.4" taller than stock to improve the geometry.

They bolt right up to your 68 Camaro, and will help you convert to a full 4 wheel traction control device.
