Default CROSSFIRE INJECTION 350 to LS1

Hey guys,

I'm new to this site. I just purchased a 1982 Cross Fire Corvette. I've always wanted an LS1 Camaro, and I thought that this would be the perfect car for an LS1 Engine. It seems as though you can put an LS1 into just about anything. I just want to get an idea of where you guys are getting these engines and how much they are running you. Whats the best place to look for one? I just want to make sure before I tackle this project that its within my budget. If not, theirs always a 350 crossfire rebuild.

Thanks,

Dan

Check out Ebay they have engine and trans setups all the time. That would be the way to go if your going to keep the engine stock. they start around 4000-4500. its not cheap.
I use to have a 83 crossfire Z28, when i rebuilt the engine i just ditched it for a carb setup that woke it up. Was going to switch to TPI but i just saved some money that way.

Just thought I'd let you know that I used to have an 84 vette w/ crossfire. I rebuilt the motor, custom intake work, cam, adjustable regulators, etc... Long story short, you can't do much improvement w/ crossfire. I had $13,000 in upgrades and the car wasn't any faster, well, a little. I have a 95 vette now and it responds well to any mods I do to it. So I would leave the crossfire alone, or swap for LS1. Just my .02
