ls2 mustang header ques. Has any one tried a ls1 header in a mustang with a tubular k member.
I am ready to start on my exhaust and cant find a cheap mustang 1 3/4 header to use they are all 300 and up.
Any help out there?

Used 351W 1 3/4 headers go on Ebay for 200 - 250 range all the time.
Not sure on the LS1 headers, I'm going to catch some of my buddies with their engines apart this winter and borrow a set of headers to see if they will fit.
The LS1 shorties should fit but LT's are much better.

I test-fit the pass. side header last night (Summit Racing generic 80 dollar 5.0 Mustang long tubes). 3 out of 4 tubes fit fine. The 4th hit the motor mount, and will need to be re-routed. I need to get my hands on some headers, because there's a TON of room and I'm sure some of the popular F-car headers will fit as-is.
lol...cheaper than $300? man that sounds good right about now. i'm still finding out just how expensive my project is including the $2900 i've paid for the tubing, flanges and labor for just my headers to be done!!! but, if you take your time, a good deal should pop up for you. good luck with the build. i'd love to see pics if you got some, sounds like a build i would like to do eventually for a milder street car.

It will be well wrth the effort if you can get them to fit or get a set made for you.
