Sweating the details....
I used a PCM from a Vette in my conversion. The gauges work from a communication link called Class II. I have custom software to allow the gauges to function in mine. A vette calibration has the wrong Class II message list to work with a truck. The PCM can control the trans, but you can not use the Vette shift table, you could use a "F" car though. A Vette picks up a speed signal after the final drive. All calibrations are done according to this ratio. If you put it in your truck, it will shift very early. I use a TCI trans controller because I need different calibrations for high range and low range. It is easy to write calibrations for and works well.
I built my own wiring harness. I have ETC in mine and it works great. I built a pedal for the truck and used the Vette controller.
There is a place in Florida that does these types of engine swaps. They show a 2WD truck on their site with a LS1.

Im SERIOUSLY considering swapping an LS1 into a 2000 GMC Sonoma. I would like to keep it an auto (and throw a little converter in there <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> ), and problems with speedo control?? My main question is the connections to the PCM(s). The LS1 PCM will control the engine obviously, but what about the trans, gauges, etc.. I know I can get the mounts from tunedport.com i think. And for the TB, id like to use the ETC or whatever it is for the vette (the motor will probably be pulled from a vette). Any thoughts/knowledge in this area? John B? LS1 Blazer and LS1 ZR2?
