Brian Green is a guy I have known for a while who is currently involved in a LS1 Cobra kit car, as well as a LS1 conversion of a Jeep Wrangler.

He also has a ton of experience with DFI, SpeedPro/Fast and soon LS1 Edit.

Hey John, love the Monte SS, great webpage you have up for it.

I'm psyched about the Cobra, we just got it started this past weekend, and currently we're cleaning up wiring & such.

Our page for the Cobra is up at http://chitownsyty.com/bg/derfs_cobra.htm
I haven't updated it in a week or so though. I'm hoping to take vid of the car running this week. LS1 sounds nifty in a car with 1-3/4" full length primaries into side pipes. Much quieter than I thought it would be.

I'll probably start a webpage on the Jeep project soon, as I have gathered a bunch of info that I should keep in html form. I almost have all the parts collected, but I'll be waiting until fall to do it, as it's drag racing season now <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
I have a 5.3 with 6.0 L intake/injectors, also using a 4L60E with it. Going to try to retain AC in it as well. I'm going to keep the stock NP231 Jeep transfercase, and use an Advance adapters adapter to go from the 4L60E to the transfercase. If we do it right, the driveshafts & transfercase linkage won't need to be touched. I'll be using the Fbody motor mounts, as they are easy to use when fabricating frame mounts. I'd like to obtain a mechanical clutch fan, as I should have room for it underhood, and it would move more air than a single electrical fan. Lots of other little notes I need to collect, regarding emissions, cooling system, fuel system etc.

The Gen III motor is very cool, I want one in every vehicle I own. Already drawing up plans for a single turbo AWD 6.0 L Syclone.

Brian - Welcome!

Saturday was awesome! That thing is WAY to quiet however. Still can't get over how quiet and CLEAN running it is with no cats & mufflers. I can't wait till project LS1 Syclone begins. That Cobra is going to be FUN in the mean time! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Thanks for the help John, and for the help I'm sure you'll provide in the future.. until I start using LS1 edit myself I'll be relying on you. Heck, we'll still need you anyways, since the Cobra's PCM is on your cable... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

You should be able to use a stock GM adapter to hook the 4L60E to the NP231 case. The S-Series uses a NP233 and it is the same as a NP231 except it has electronic control instead of a handle to put it into 4WD. I have this package in my ZR2 S10.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to track down the tailshaft housing for those year trucks. I'll have to determine if the shaft spline is the same, as I understand they have a few different variations in it.

Good to see you here Brian.
I miss my TY, but I'm having fun with my
current toys for now.

I also found an LS1 engine cheap and am
trying to decide on a cool (not too difficult)
body for a swap.
